Hi everyone,

I’m a pre-med applying in the upcoming cycle and wanted to respectfully reach out in case any current or former medical school admissions committee members might be willing to offer candid perspective on my application strength and areas for improvement.

I have a strong academic foundation, extensive clinical exposure, significant research involvement, and a background focused on health equity and immigrant health navigation. I’ve tried to build a cohesive narrative around access to care and underserved communities, but I would really value an admissions lens on whether this comes across clearly and competitively, as well as any blind spots I may be missing.

If any adcom members would be open to it, I’d be happy to share more details via private message.

I know adcoms are incredibly busy, but I would be very grateful for any high-level guidance on how to best strengthen my application before submission.

Thank you for your time and for everything you do to support applicants on this forum.

Have you ever asked a mentor or doctor you work with to "analyze" your personal statement, or do you currently mainly assess your narrative yourself as clear and unique enough?

From my experience reading and reviewing many applications, your biggest strength is the consistency of your health equity and immigrant health themes, but admissions often ask more than just "what you do," but "what you have learned and how you have changed." If your narrative doesn't clearly demonstrate your inner growth through each experience, your application is easily perceived as strong in terms of CV but lacking personal depth.
