Match lists show many applicants matching into these categories. Does this mean that they did not match into their desired specialty and so they'd just do an intern year first and reapply?
Match lists also show applicants matching directly into a specialty with no indication of a prelim/intern year, are these the PGY-2 matches? Are they the ones that stay at the institution for the intern year & reapply again? So this would mean that most lists include both 4th year students and interns?
