Hey guys and girls out there, answer this scenario for me.

I am interested in Medicine Prelim years, however say if I don't match into any Anesthesiology positons, I am willing to go into a Categorical Medicine program. How can I tell programs that I want to be considered a candidate for both their Prelim and Categorical spots in case this worst case scenario of matching to no Anesthesiology positions occurs.

Also say I have applied to Categorical years already and now want them to cosider me for their Prelim year instead. What do I say on the interview. How do I work around this. What is a smart thing to do in this situation. anyone have any ideas.

Should I not even apply to a Categorical medicine program, I heard these are easier to get into than Prelim years and that is why I did it originally.

Last part, what happens if I got an interview already for a Categorical year, how can I tell them that I also want an interview for theri Prelim spot.

thanks-please post answers soon
