Preparing for Verbal section of MCAT as freshman

What can I do, right now, to start preparing for the verbal section? What should I be reading?

Whatever you enjoy reading. Don't stress it yet. Unless you get lucky and read the actual book someone picks for your test it won't help you that much. Just read what you enjoy - sports, news, tech, history, whatever. Just make sure you're still a good reader while you slog through all those science classes and you'll be fine.

Just read novels and MAYBE read a magazine like Scientific American or the New Yorker.

Read books for enjoyment, and enjoy not worrying about the mcat for a couple of years.
