Hey guys, I recently got my MCAT scores back so I figured I would see how I stack up so far. I'm going to be a senior this year but am taking a year off, so I'm applying next cycle.

PA resident
cGPA: 3.76 sGPA: 3.50
MCAT: 33N (12 ps, 11 vr, 10 bs)

my ECs are my weak point so far:
~200 hr psych research (child ADHD, no patient contact)
~85 hr unpaid internship (for credit) at an inpatient psych ward (child/adolescent)
~70 or so hours volunteering at local hospital/cancer center
only shadowed an orthopedic surgeon for 9 hours, not interested at all in orthopedics

my school list at this point:

Penn
Northwestern
Ohio State
Pitt
U of Virginia
Case Western
St. Louis
Georgetown
U of Cincinnati
Indiana - Indianapolis
Jefferson
Temple
Creighton
Rush
UMass
Loyola
Illinois - Chicago
Drexel
West Virginia (MD)

Boston
George Washington
Michigan State (MD)

any thoughts/advice is appreciated.

I think you'll have a good chance next cycle, i would continue volunteering at the local hospital and try to get more shadowing or leadership experiences if possible.

I can't really comment on your school list and whether you have a good list of school, since im applying right now and wont be that much help, hopefully someone else can help you on that. But.. i would probably replace indiana with another school they're not friendly towards oos. Also, i would consider only having a few of these schools, georgetown, drexel, george washington, boston, even though ur stats are within their range they get about 10,000 applications. Also, Illinois and michigan state tuition is ridiculous if you're out of state. I'm a michigan resident but illinois OOS tuition made me take if off my list.

Hopefully my advice helps
