After reading up on floaters I was wondering if procedures are becoming more prevalent for them. I mean, besides vitrectomies for severe cases or whatever, is laser gaining popularity?

I've never heard of any reputable institutions doing laser for floaters. There is one guy in Florida who does a lot of it, but I can't help thinking that if he has done as many as he says & it works as well as he says, why has he not published his results & why has no-one else been able to achieve the same results.
I can't help wondering if he is just doing it for the money & he just doesn't see the resulting retinal tears / detachments, because they get referred to a retina specialist somewhere else

I'd be very interested to hear if anyone else is doing them

As Retinamark pointed out, the incidence for retinal tears and detachments after laser is not trivial. This is not a standard of care for floaters.
