Primary Apps submitted...now what?

Hello everyone,

So I just submitted my AMCAS today, and according to SDN and the time-frame I'm in, I have about 3-4 weeks before I get verified. So what is my next course of action?

I'm not allowed to just create an account on a med schools site and start filling out their secondaries, right? I need to wait for an invitation via e-mail or letter, correct? If So, the only thing left for me to do now is to look at the secondary threads on SDN and start filling out rough drafts of each secondary, and start researching schools to get to know more about them.

Did I forget anything?

2) Sit tight and wait for secondary applications; start on rough drafts if you really feel ambitious, but even this might be overkill

Yeah, while you're waiting on your primary to get verified, you can start drafting your secondary essays. Some schools have open secondaries (and some will send you an invite to fill out secondaries before the primary is verified), but most you need to be invited (because they give you a login).

Make sure all your other ducks are in a row--LORs and whatnot, and just sit back and wait for the secondaries to come in.

if you haven't done it ever, go to the nearest casino, find a black jack table, throw down $200 and smoke / drink until its gone or you triple your money. you will either hate yourself after losing it all and be more motivated for the next month and half then ever before, or you will be in a fantastic mood. the next few weeks, find some of the essay prompts floating around here and you can begin drafting for the schools you applied to
