Prior Active Duty

Good evening everyone!

Was anyone here prior active duty (enlisted) and then joined as an officer? I'm prior AD Marine Corps and I'm currently in graduate school working toward my Au.D. I have looked into joining the military once I have completed my degree assuming my 8 years prior service will carry over. Can anyone with personal experience give me some pro's/con's? To anyone that switched branches of service, did you find it difficult? I still have a few years left but I am looking into my options. Thank you for your time.

I've never met an AD audiologist, only civilians. They may exist but never saw one in the navy.

I've have incidentally met two. One at WR and one at Landstuhl. Both army.

Saw one at Tripler. Haven't seen any at Balboa or Portsmouth. Couldn't say about anywhere else.

I know the AF has them and I believe the Navy does but I'm sure they are few and far between. I haven't looked at the Army yet.
