If a person is going through their undergrads, and DAT and stuff and doesnt have permanent residency or citizenship (but is in the process of becoming a permanent resident)...

do private dental schools accept such students? or do they reject them like the other state schools?

Specifically speaking, how are private schools like Columbia, NYU?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that, as long as you can prove that you WILL get residency, the schools will accept you.

THe process of getting residency can take many years....if you are not a resident by the time you file your AADSAS, according to the schools, you are an international applicant

You can go to any private schools and even some state schools that accept international students. You would NOT have any problem going to Columbia or NYU since they are both private schools. The only problem you have is that you won't be able to receive any federal/school loans. However, if you get your passport stamped (temporary seal with your alien #) by the INS by the time you matriculate, you will have no problem getting loans.

apply as an international student

many dental schools accept international students on F1 visa.
