Like the last year, can we share our GPA, NBDE 1&2 and TOEFL scores, years of experience( in and outside U.S.), Schools desired and number of attempts in this thread for the admissions Summer 2009?

Mine are as follows

GPA - 3.89
NBDE 1 - 88
TOEFL - 108 (IBT)
No. of years - 1 in U.S. Masters in India
Schools desired - UOP, UCSF, USC

havn't taken Part 2, i wish i could also apply to tufts n UPenn!

hello fellow dentists, im in a bit of a dilemma and i feel that you will help me sort it out.
I have scheduled my exam for July 11th...but i feel i need 2-3 days extra so I am planning on moving it to July 14th. so, my question is....i am only applying to california schools (UOP,UCSF,UCLA,USC)...and I was hoping you could give me an answer to the following q's
1- how long did it take for your result to come out
2- if i take exam july 14th, then roughly result comes out by august 14th...
is that enough time to make it for the september 2nd deadline?
3- how long does ADA take to mail out scores to schools?
4- can i request copies of score from ADA and mail them out myself?

this is the reply for the question posed by indiangraduate.
when i took the test ,i got the result within 2 weeks. In order to request the ADA to send out score reports to the schools of your choice , there is a scxore request form on the website ada.org, u need to fill it out make a money order or cashiers cheque [25/ per score report ] and give them the addresses of where u want it sent.
U can also ask them to mail u the score reports ,then u can send the unopened envelopes to the schools .But better make sure with the schools if they will accept the score report sent by you.

are they reliable? cuz im cutting it short and i dont want them to mail it out later than the day i order it to be sent on.

Hi Indian Graduate,
1- I got my result in exactly 3 weeks.
2- Its too close so keep your fingers crossed.
3- 3 weeks is the time it takes additional reports to reach universities from the day they recieve your check.
4- Check the Universites web site for the last question. When they say testing agencies have to send the reports to them directly, it best to do that. They might reject your application if you dont.

I am filling the ADA application for Part 2. What supporting documents do i need to send. I have already taken Part 1 and TOEFL and have also sent them the ECE evaluation for Part 1.

I will really appreciate if someone can help me with that.

u have a gpa of 4 in your BDS from india???
or this GPA is for your coursework like MPH/MHA in US???
because dental schools won't consider your MPH GPA
only your BDS GPA is taken into consideration.

Hi,
You have a pretty decent score...But with a GPA of 4 you will def get in NYU which stersses on GPA..You can also apply to UOP in San francisco and Univ of Mn think San Antonio..Do Apply to all the other too....
Can you pl tell when you gave your exam and the break up of the raw scores..

Thanks for the break up...
USC wants tht we should get a min of 75 in each sub ,hence you cant apply in USC...Yes,you can apply in UOP which asks a min of 80 in Part 1 and min GPA of 2.0
I dont know how much they stress on GPA..
Pl let me know how you studied Dental Occlusion.

If you notice on UOP, they have updated their website according to the new pattern and the min. composite score to qualify is 80(no sectional scores considered for new pattern). I think the break up scores in the new pattern indicates the no. of questons answered correct and not the % score on each section. anybody else correct me if I am wrong

As regards to DA,I concentrated on decks and occlusion chapter on Wheeler's especially oclusal contact and intercusp relations of all the teeth of one arch with those in the opposing arch

I am worried about my nbde score....i am aiming for UOP mostly because of family living there....any thoughts on what my chances are guys?

Yes,you are right..I too called USC a month back and they specifically told me tht they want 75 in each section in the new pattern too...
Same for UCSF...
