After the match, can programs see where, in fact, you ranked them? Is there any way for them to find out?

I told a program I would be ranking them high (I honestly was going to), but then they ended up being kind of low after I thought about it. Just curious if this will come back to bite me in the butt if I ever have to deal with them in future (such as a scramble).

i know this may be a hard concept for you to grasp, but if you don't match somewhere, they won't really miss you.
😉

don't worry about it. they may know if you match somewhere that you told them you ranked lower but otherwise i don't think so, but i don't know for sure. i know for sure they won't care.

heh, yeah bad example, but you're right they wouldn't miss me. I guess I was thinking more long term such as if you apply there in 2 years for a fellowship, and then you tell them the same thing, that you'll rank them high blah blah, and then they think, yeah we've heard that before!

anyway, if they do find out somehow i'll just cross that bridge then. thanks-

when you apply for fellowship, you will be dealing with a whole new group of people who DEFINITELY don't care what you told the program 2 years ago and definitely have better things to do than look.
