PS Length - Limit to 1 Page?

The pre-med advisors at my undergrad tell everyone to cut their PS down to a maximum of 1 page to keep readers interested. My PS is currently about a page long but is only 3600 characters. Because this is so far below the character limit, I'm worried that this will be a red flag. While I have a pretty cohesive narrative, there's definitely more information and details that I could add which would put me over 1 page. What is everyone's experience with PS length?

I would get it closer to 5,300 characters, especially if there's more you have to say.

Every sentence should have significance. The last thing you want to do is include details that don’t add much or worse, take attention away from what you’re trying to say. I had a successful cycle and I was well below the character limit, if that provides any comfort.
