here's my situation:
i've been out of school since 2002 and have good experience in non-profit + clinical jobs, but i've got zero research experience (other than the minor research required for psych majors at my school).
i was going to try to find either a job or volunteer position in a research lab for the upcoming year. should i mention this in my personal statement to cover all bases or is it something that can wait to bring up in secondaries/interviews? as it is now, my ps mainly talks about social aspects of medicine and is minimally scientific.
