Hello all!
I just started an internship at the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) and although it is an amazing experience and I am learning a lot, I think it has shown me that research is not where my passion lies. With that said, I'm an up-and-coming junior undergrad and am currently debating (now that I have seen the real research world first hand) whether or not a Ph.D is for me because of the extent of research focus. I am worried, however, that even though a Psy.D program seems to be more appropriate for my interests, I'm afraid it does not look as good and is not as respected as a Ph.D.
Does anyone have any opinions on whether or not a Psy.D is less respected?
Anything would be much appreciated! Thanks, Carolyn
