I have a few ideas in mind, but am just curious if anyone on here has any information about this. I am an M4 who has failed to match and applied for Psychiatry. I am interested in participating in any type of research that is related to Psychiatry (child, adult, geriatric, addiction, etc.) to help strengthen my application for next year. Any suggestions for how to get one's foot in the door to pursue an opportunity like this?
Alternatively, what would a reasonable work experience look like for an aspiring psychiatrist in my position for a gap year? Research would be ideal, but interested in exploring all options. Of course I'd also be looking to take Step 3 this year. Thank you!
