Hi, just wondering if having many different types of pubs is bad for residency

Most likely will depend on the individual PD, and their respective specialty. If you have specific programs in mind at this point, take a look at their websites and see if they have any information about the research that their residents/faculty have conducted.

Anecdotally, I had a variety of different research projects/publications and it did not negatively impact me during interviews/Match.

It is fine, especially if it occurs early on.

Hi, just wondering if having many different types of pubs (a few basic science, a few public health, etc) is indicative to potential residencies of lack of focus. I took a few years off before M1 and did research during that time. Probably aiming for mid-tier Peds if that affects anything.

most likely not, especially if these research was published before you even matriculate med school. PDs don’t expect you to decide on a specialty before med school starts.
