Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship 2025-2026 Cycle

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
And like a thousand other commanders on a thousand other battlefields, I wait for the dawn.
Dr. Bob — with this being the first cycle using signals, from a PD perspective, how are programs balancing their interview selections among gold, silver, and no-signal applicants? Do no-signal applications still get serious consideration, or are they mostly overlooked?

ymmv: as with any particular piece of data, each program is going to use it differently.
But as I was talking to a few other PDs the other day from our limited data set...

A gold signal certainly increases your chances of an interview but doesn't guarantee it. If you signal gold and you match the criteria that a program is looking for that will help you. Any given program will have more people who match their general criteria than they have interview spots for so the gold signal helps.
Silver helps less so (unquantifiable how much less).

Do no-signal applications get consideration? Sure. But you're going to need something to set yourself apart (as usual).

Hi everyone! wondering if anyone has received any interview invites from programs in NYC? other than the 3 that are reflected in the spreadsheet as of now. Thanks!

Agree. Even in spreadsheet not much actviity despite interviews 🤔
