The question asks to determine the molality of a saturated solution of Pb(NO3)2. Saturation was 37.7g/100ml. Converting this to mol/kg solvent, I got 1.14m. But since Pb(NO3)2 ionizes into 3 components WHEN IT IS SATURATED, shouldn't you multiply that by 3 to get 3.42? Answer D. My solution says Answer C 1.14 and NOT Answer D, 3.41.

So, only when it asks for boiling point elevation and freezing point depression, we multiply by the number of ions? Are there any other instances?

I got this question wrong after doing Kaplan's online free cbt. Their PS question 27's answer claims that molality must take into account ion number.
