question about activities

Here's the deal....

so, I was elected to student government for next year and am also going to be mentoring two freshman as a minority programs mentor.

Since I did not know about these comitments until recently and I am not going to be really involved with them until september, I did not put them in my amcas primary.

But...Would it be appropriate to put them down on any secondaries that I fill out during the summer months, even if I have not started them at the time. THe reason I ask is that they will probably both be pretty big time-commitments for next year and will be a bulk of what I will be doing in terms of extracurriculars.

most secondaries will be in the form of essays and listing your pre-reqs, and won't touch on that kind of thing. However, there is certainly no harm in writing sepearte letters to update schools on such major time/service committments.
