question about adderall use

I had some questions about adderall use-could you pm me if you take it please.

I have never used it, so I can't be of much help, but I personally think that if you are taking it to do better in med school, don't do it! I looked it up in Micromedex for you. See below!

Black Box Warning Amphetamines have a high potential for abuse. Administration of amphetamines for prolonged periods of time may lead to drug dependence and must be avoided. Particular attention should be paid to the possibility of subjects obtaining amphetamines for non-therapeutic use or distribution to others and the drugs should be prescribed or dispensed sparingly.

Misuse of amphetamine may cause sudden death and serious cardiovascular adverse events .

Narcolepsy: immediate-release, 5-60 mg/day ORALLY in divided doses

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: (6-12 yr ) extended release, initial 10 mg ORALLY every morning (alternatively, 5 mg/day if appropriate); may increase daily dose in 5-10 mg increments at weekly intervals until optimal response; MAX 30 mg/day
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: (13-17 yr) extended release, initial 10 mg ORALLY every morning; may increase to 20 mg/day after 1 week
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder: (age 3-5 yr) immediate release, initial 2.5 mg ORALLY every morning; may increase daily dose in 2.5 mg increments at weekly intervals until optimal response

Administration ORAL: avoid late evening doses due to resulting insomnia
ORAL: give first dose on awakening, additional doses at 4-6 hr intervals
ORAL: (extended-release) capsules may be swallowed whole or the entire capsule contents may be sprinkled on applesauce and consumed immediately; the applesauce with sprinkled beads should be consumed in its entirety without chewing
ORAL: (extended-release) do not divide the dose of a single capsule; patients should not take anything less than one capsule per day
ORAL: (extended-release) may be taken with or without food

I have a freind who struggles with mild ADD and has had past Dx. He really struggled this yr until he got on Adderrall.

Be sure you need it though due to the side effects and addictive potential.

No need to be an a$$hole there buddy...I am just posting all the FACTS that he/she would find in a package insert.
As I mentioned, I have never taken it, but based on reading the information and potential side-effects, I wouldn't recommend it unless he actually needs it for medical reasons. My sister used to take if for ADD, but that's a different story.
