question about classes to take

There are a few that require a year of calc--check the MSAR (if you don't have a copy, your pre-med advisor or school library should). Usually it is the more research-oriented schools that require this (Harvard and Duke, for example). More schools have a requirement for a year of college math, which can also be filled by courses such as statistics.

If you really don't want to take it, and don't have your heart set on one of the "Calc-requiring" minority, then don't.

If you still need to complete a year of math, I'd recommend Statistical Analysis. It's more useful to clinicians than calculus, anyway.
