Hey SDN,
I am likely going to apply IM, however am considering switching to EM last minute. I am signed up for an EM rotation next at my home institution which starts next week (I know I need to do an away - I'm applying to lots of places now). I was initially going to do a sub-i in medicine during this time, but I feel exploring EM in depth would be of more value.
I already did an IM sub-i earlier this year, however I am concerned about the LOR I may get. Worked with a ton of attendings and didn't get to know any on a super personal level. I already have a few IM letters from 3rd year which should be solid. I feel another medicine sub-i (floors this time) could help me work another solid LOR.
Thoughts? Do another IM sub-i or do the EM thing. I'm torn.
