Hey all,

I have registered for the April MCAT but really need to postpone it until this August due to personal reasons. I have looked through the 'MCAT 2001 announcement' booklet and found out on p21 I can get a $100 refund if I just don't show up on the day of the test + send back my unused ticket with the writing 'REFUND' on it. Is this really all you have to do to cancel the test? Don't I need to maybe fill out a special form of some sort indicating that I will not be taking the April test? Another concern is that, is not attending the test the same thing as 'voiding' the test? On p24 of the same booklet, in the end of the first paragraph of the 'Voiding Your Answer Documents' section, it says "Your test will be voided automatically if you are not present for all section of the exam, regardless of the circumstances" I know that if I get a void in my record, I'll be asked about it in probably all of my interviews which is something that I don't want.
Will med schools know in any way that I had registered for the April MCAT and backed out of it at the end if I just don't go on my test day? Shall I call the MCAT program office to let them know I won't be attending?
Please help!

I think your best bet would be to call the MCAT Program Office (319) 337-1357 and get the official word.

Med Schools would not even know if you went on test day, took the whole test, then at the end of the day VOIDED it. They only get scores from the complete exams.. dont worry about that.

I dont know about the refund deal though.
