Question about Problem Based Learning

Can anyone give insight to problem based learning curriculum tracks? I notice a few of the schools that I am interested in offer it,(UMDNJ-SOM) but they dont go into too much detail about it. It sounds very interesting and I would like to look into it. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks so much for the link, it was very informative.Im very intersested in it for myself. Do you think that PBLC''s isolate the students involved and cause them to feel "apart" form the rest of the class. How do students that are not in PBL feel about the students that do it? Thanks for your insight.

Well I'm in the LDP pathway at LECOM. For the first 12 weeks of class all the students are together. Also each Wednesday we have OMM which brings the students together again.

I'm in the PBL program at LECOM in Doctortobee's class. PM me if you have any specific questions. I must add however, that like she said, we're all taking a lecture-based course right now so my PBL knowledge is somewhat limited. I do understand the overall scope of the program though. There are a few other PBLers on here from LECOM, some are MSIIs. They'd be able to provide specific answers.

Can't really generalize how other students feel about us PBLers. I have heard a wide range of opinions, some good (we must be very disiplined to learn on our own), some not so good (we have it easy since we don't have to go to lectures etc).
I don't think PBL isolates anyone at LECOM, except maybe for study groups, where you tend to stick with people in your own pathway. Socially everyone hangs out with everyone else.
PBL is the only way to go for me, but it depends on your learing style and your discipline.
