Question About Submitting AMCAS Before August MCAT

I always hear that one should turn in your AMCAS as soon as possible even if you plan on retaking the MCAT in August. The problem is that how do you know which schools to apply to if you don't know what your scores will be when you receive them in October? Do you have to just risk it?
