Question about waitlists

Do you get to see how many other people are on the list with you? If it is ranked do they tell you your rank?

Lastly?.what is an alternate list? Isn?t this the same as a waitlist?

You don't get to see the list, or know how many people are on the list, or your ranking on the list if there is a ranking (for MOST schools). Each is different.

Alternate is the same thing, some schools also say hold list, or acceptable list, etc.
