Does it really matter that much which school you go to in terms of what residency you get. I can't decide whether I should go to University of Ohio medical school in Toledo which isn't ranked that high either -less than top 50 or neoucom a school close to my home- so that I could live at home and save a ton of money. I really am confused-please help 🙂 🙂 🙂
thanks

For those two schools, I would choose whichever one fit you better. Did you feel any difference in atmosphere? Did you get a feel for the third/fourth year medical training? Are there major differences in first/second year cirriculum, i.e. integrated type program vs traditional subject based?

As you have mentioned, you are concerned about your living situation. Med school is gonna be a fun as well as very difficult time. You may want to live on your own, with other students, or as you said, with your family. Even though it means giving up the extra money, the convenience of being at home, the access to laundry facilities, I personnally would want to move out. Even if that means going to the school near home, but getting my own apartment. Consider these things too.

In any case, its of course arguable, but I think the difference in those two schools for residency is not the biggest issue you should consider.

do not live at home...like the other poster said...it may be nice for food and laundry and such...however what happens when you want to bring a guy or girl back to your place for some lovin and your family is there?
