Question of Visas

Hi I was wondering if there were any Canadian IMGs on this forum who could help out with a little info. I'm a Caribbean IMG with Canadian citizenship interested in Neurology. I'm heading into third year soon so Im contemplating about what the best VISA to look into to complete a residency in the states. For IM I've heard many programs are no longer offering the H1B visa and only offering the J1. Is this the same with Neuro? Are there any Canadians on here who are completing their residency via either of these VISAs? For those with J1's who completed their residency and had to go back to Canada for 2 years did u get a waiver or were you able to get good Neuro fellowships back home?
