question on partial re-examination

I have a question on partial re-examination.

I took the NBDE I exam once already. I am thinking about taking it again. I saw this option when I was applying that stated one could take a partial re-examination. What is this option? Does this mean I can take the part I did not do well again but carry over the scores from the parts I did well in?

Has anybody done a partial re-exam?

Or is this something completely different.

Please advise if you know.
