I am looking at a few different schools, namely LECOM, CCOM, PCOM, OUCOM, and NYCOM, and how rotations work at these particular schools. I would like to do my rotations near my hometown of Pittsburgh. I understand that at some schools, only fourth-year rotations can be done elsewhere.

Also, does matching into a specific AOA internship and/or residency depend on where you went to school. Example: If I graduate from CCOM and want to do my internship at UPMC Horizon in Pittsburgh (AOA approved Surgery, IM, etc), is this possible?

Thanks for all your help!

No, they are unrelated.

Some residencies affiliated with your school may give you special consideration, however.

If you end up going to LECOM, you should be able to do most of your rotations in Pittsburgh. I did most of my rotations in Pittsburgh (I am from here too), but I did have to go to Wheeling or other nearby places for a few rotations.

And ditto what OSUdoc said in his answer to your second question.

PCOM has quit a few core rotation sites out in the pitt area, including UPMC. So you would be able to rotate there 3rd and 4th year if you want to. As was said above, residency match is a free for all among all schools.
