Hi all,

I was just notified today that I am being offered a need-based grant from one of my accepted schools (school X). I am very excited about this, and they have included a form that I have to sign and send back to them by April 21st saying I either accept or deny the offer. My question is, would my signing and sending back the letter of grant acceptance mean that I am accepting that given amount as school X's final offer, i.e. if I get a better financial offer from another school Y, I wouldn't be able to negotiate with school X to match or better the other offer? any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Need based aid is usually formula driven. Not too likely that they will increase your need based aid or negotiate it, but sure, you can always ask if they will match or better other offers, but beware of May 15. Were you offered any merit aid?

You might get a more helpful answer if you identify the school...
