Hi! Guys.. I am a highschool student in Canada and have a couple of

questions concerning my career path.. I want to be either a surgeon

or engineer.. So My question is " Is it possible to get into med-school

even if I am not a pre-med student(in other words, not biology major)?"

Because med-schools have a certain number of prerequisite courses in

pre-med courses.

I guess the MCAT exam would be tougher if you were a non-transtional

student.. Am I right?

you can definitely go to medical school without being a biology/chemistry/etc major. for example, i'm a psych major, and it hasn't been a problem. however, there are set pre-med requirements that you need to fulfill in order to apply to medical school. they vary slightly school by school, but it pretty much boils down to: biology, chemistry, orgo, physics, english, and sometimes math (calculus).

major in whatever you want (whatever interests you) - just make sure you get in your pre-med classes (plan accordingly - these classes are year-long & 2 semesters each) and you'll be fine. plenty of ppl apply to med school without being science majors.
