I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. I'll be a junior this upcoming Fall and I'm taking Orgo I in the Fall. I will be taking the MCAT in April of '08. I'm not exactly sure how the admissions cycle works, but I wouldn't be worried.

As long as you have taken everything else, you won't be too behind at all. A spring MCAT would be best so that your applications will be complete ASAP, but a summer MCAT isn't all that late. A lot of people do that. It's definitely more important to be fully prepared for the test, than rushing to take it so your apps are complete earlier.

Most osteopathic schools have deadlines that are sometime in January, ranging from early to late, but there are exceptions to every rule. Check out AACOMAS for the specifics. Though, I should point out, you really don't want to be submitting applications in January.

Good luck with orgo- you're gonna need it (as did we all).

Take MCAT during junior year (or end of junior year)

Apply to DO schools in summer after junior year
Fill out secondary applications to DO schools in summer of junior year

Interview for DO schools in fall/spring of senior year
Receive acceptance to DO schools in fall/spring of senior year :biglove:

Relax and party (but not too much) spring of senior year :hardy:

    Graduate college and celebrate

    Enjoy your summer

Start med school   :scared:

you don't have to know the mcat score before you apply, so taking it in the spring/summer of 08 will easily put you in the applicant pool. the downside about applying as early as possible is that you don't know your mcat score before you would apply, but i would say that applying early is the best thing that you can do, so its worth it.
