Quick LOR question.. Department chair vs professor.

Would an LOR from the biology department chair carry more weight than an LOR from just a regular professor in the biology department?

I'm close with both, and in the end I'll probably ask the department chair anyways because I already know her fairly well and I'm taking 2 classes with her next semester so I'll only try to get on her good side even more; I'm merely asking out of pure curiosity.

I am not a biology major, so getting to know the department chair was significantly harder for me than biology majors who practically have her as their advisor. Would ADCOM's consider/notice that or is it too minuscule to really pay attention to?

If you know both well, and the department chair is a good writer, then I'd go with the department chair. All else being equal, go for the more prestigious LOR.
