Quick question about PS

When you talk about important experiences in your PS how much background information do you need to provide? For example if I said "When shadowing Dr. A, I observed...", would adcoms get confused without more information about this shadowing experience (I.e details about where/when this occurred). These details are in my activities section so they could always refer back if needed, but at the same time don't want to burden the reader.

Is it okay to just cut to the chase? Sort of running low on characters...
