I just started studying for the DAT and will probably take it in about 2 months. I already bought the Kaplan bk, which has 2 practice tests - one on paper, one w/ the CD. So how do I go about getting more practice tests and with which books? My friend is going to let me have her old MCAT bks, but the format is so different especially the science section and I need help with the PAT. I was thinking of buying the Topscore CD, because when I went to the bookstore I was shocked that there were only 2 DAT books to choose from (Kaplan and Barrons). I mean, how am I supposed to get practice if there's hardly anything out there? 😕

hey woohoo,
The Top Score CD is definately a must! But I would also recommend the DAT exam that comes in the DAT registration guide/booklet. I think that helped me the most, if truth be told.
Also, PM DesiDentist, as he probably still has a ton of stuff to sell.

Thanks perc, I wasn't aware you could get a practice test with the registration (guess i should do that soon). As a recent inductee into the predental institution I was hoping for a little more help. Anyways, I'll prolly pm Desi about that stuff later.

I agree with Percocet, the test within the registration booklet was definitely the most helpful. I took it the day before, did horrible on it, and reviewed all the problems I got wrong. Then the next day taking the test, there were 2 or 3 similar problems. If it hadn't been for looking up the problems I got wrong, I probably wouldn't have done as good as I did on the DAT. I took the tests in the Kaplan book as well, but it they aren't really representative of the real thing (especially the angle questions in the PAT section). In regards to the Topscore CD, I never got a chance to to use it since I borrowed it from my friend and apparently there's some sort of time limit to using it. I borrowed the CD 3 days before the test and by the time we realized why it wouldn't work, it was too late to go grab a copy. So definitely try to be more prepared than me! Then again, I only studied 2 weeks for the test...heh.
