quick questions about application!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
In my personal experiences.....The red text appeared on my application as well and after talking to fellow applicants they assured me that this is normal and should not cause a problem with your verification. Secondly I wrote briefly in the description section. I figured just giving them the basics would be sufficient considering how many apps they must read through. If anything you can bring up what you left out on your PS or during your interview. Thirdly, my lor's were sent out by my school's review committee but the secondaries I am filling out are saying to send them with your app. Hope all that helps.

hi everyone! i have a few questions

are you supposed to list future courses for the fall semester? when i list them and do not fill in a grade, red text appears warning that that might cause problems with my application.

...

also, are lor's meant to be sent in before filling out secondaries or after?

thanks!!

Yes, you should list future courses for the fall semester. If they end up changing, make sure it doesn't affect any degree status that the schools may be banking on you. In fact, you might let them know exactly what your courses are going to be once you are positive. Don't worry about the red warning.

LoR's and secondaries are somewhat separate for the schools that I applied to. By separate, I mean that when you check your application status online/over-the-phone you will see a checkbox for your secondary and a checkbox for your letters. In short, they don't need to be sent together, but they both need to be there before you are "complete" and ready for interview review.

For the EC's do you just describe them or do you also write a line or so about what you learned/gained from the experience?

Its the first time i read that future course work should be listed in the application as my pre-med advisor never mentioned it! So is it ok to list them even if it does not appear on the transcript at all?

I tried to write a little description, but I don't think there is a standard. Do what is comfortable.

As for future coursework, you should list it. Of course it won't appear on your transcript (especially not if your school's transcript doesn't list current courses) but that is okay.

future coursework isnt even looked at by amcas. the only reason it would be there is in the rare occasion of when a medical school is really interested on what you will be doing the next semester (borderline candidate or some similar situation).

because they do not show up on OFFICIAL transcripts (some unofficial ones will have courses that you are enrolled in for the next semester), there is no way to verify them and amcas wont even look to correct it.

there is no delay with verification so go nuts.

I wrote a line describing what some of my activities were (Active Minds, for example...). I tended to write more for the activities I actually cared about, and less for things that I was part of, but didn't really do anything with. I also noted other things that I did for those activities. For example, for one of my clubs, I volunteered for various events throughout the year. Instead of making these separate events, I just described my role in each of those events.

My official transcripts list all courses you register for. They just have the credit hours in parentheses, and *** where the grade should be. So, they are listed, just not included in anything. And yes, this is my official transcript.
