I was written up for smoking marijuana at a party during my freshman year of college. I am 2 years removed from school doing research/volunteering in underserved clinic etc. I finished with 3.7 gpa and 3.6 bcmp, 30MCAT. Have good extracurriculars etc. I was just wondering how bad this looks on my app and whether it completely precludes me from acceptance. Has anyone ever gotten in w/ a marijuana write up in college?

Yes, they have. Like everything else in the IA front, you need to focus your application on the positives but be prepared to answer questions about the marijuana write-up. Apply broadly so that if somewhere, someone decides to reject you based just on that, you have lots of alternatives.
