Would it be possible for a DO, trained by St. Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx and accredited by the (apparently) oft-villified American Osteopathic Board of Radiology, to get an allopathic fellowship in neuroradiology or vascular/interventional radiology?

I'm thinking way, way down the road, i.e. a decade or so, but I'm just curious.

Also, would an allopathic-trained radiologist, all things considered, always get hired over an AOBR-certified radiologist?

No in the current job market for radiologists some places would take anyone who is board-certified and has a pulse. Getting a job in NYC, SF, LA, would of course be harder.

With the current fellowship environment, I would think it is possible to match from an AOA radiology residency. I do not know anyone personally who had done this, however. And, as far as I know, there are no AOA radiology fellowships available at this time.

There's a resident at The Barney right now who has an interventional spot at Stony Brook next year.

That is interesting JPFL75. Boston, and Tufts for that matter, has been notoriously DO unfriendly. I wish he had more of a say when my application was floating around up there.
