Radiology residency questions

I have two questions about residency that I hope you guys can answer:

1) After completing med school, do you have to complete a clinical year somewhere before getting accepted into a diagnostic radiology program?

2) How long is the Diag. Rad. program? 5 years?

1) The least stressfull way to do it (and the most common) is to match both the diagnostic radiology residency and prelim/transitional year at the same time. For this upcoming match, you'd match for July 2003 prelim/trans and July 2004 radiology.

2) 1 year of prelim/trans, 4 years of diag radiology.
