I'm sorta of new to SDN and could use some input. the info on here has been a ton of help!
Unfortunately, at this point I only have one interview coming up in about two weeks at NYMC (and still waiting on a bunch more...tufts, bu, drexel, jefferson, albany, pitt, Rosalind, loyola and stony). This might sound kind of silly, but as far as what happens when they offer you an interview, I'm not too familiar, since I only have ONE. When I was able to sign up for the NYMC interview, there were quite a few days to choose from across a couple of weeks...but this was way back in november. Are most schools still doing this? if I were to be offered an interview say tomorrow (i can wish!) at one of the schools I'm waiting on, are these schools likely to have a few days in atleast two different weeks? or is this totally random and just depends on the school?

I'm asking this because I have an opportunity to go on this great trip over spring break and be gone for about 6 days. I know I shouldn't even be thinking about a vacation when I'm dying for any interviews I can get. It's just the waiting is driving me crazy and I'm not even sure there is any chance that I would get offered one on this span of 6 days. I know with my luck if I don't go I'll probably be kicking myself later when I don't get any more interviews and feel like...gee, wish I had gone through with my trip. or go ahead book the trip, and the day after get an offer.
any thoughts? am i'm just being nuts?

Well on a couple of interviews that I received I was given a choice of dates. On one particular interview, I wasn't given a choice, but since I had a conflict I asked them if I could reschedule and they were very accomodating. Then again...they might be making a small asterix next to my name that could doom my admission. But I'm a risk taker what can I say

Wait until you've graduated to go on your trip. It's not worth it right now. Don't risk a potential earlier interview (thus higher chance of acceptance than waitlist) for something that can be easily put off. Prioritize: What's more important right now?

You make the final call.

Thanks for the input. I actually already did graduate and am in grad school getting my masters. I'm defending over the summer, so pretty much this is my only chance to do anything vacation-like before med school. but you're probably right. this waiting sucks
