There is a book that is called the Gourman Report that ranks graduate schools, medical schools included. I heard about this ranking system when I was applying last year. For some reason, the rankings in the book were considered contraversial, and the list did differ from the one published by USNEWS.

I don't think any of the rankings are listed on the internet but if you do a search, you might be able to find something.

Ya'll gotta search a little smarter than that.... ;)

From the most recent Gourman Report:
Rank..School
1.......Harvard
2.......Johns Hopkins
3.......Pennsylvania
4.......California, San Francisco
5.......Yale
6.......Chicago, Pritzker
7.......Columbia
8.......Stanford
9.......Cornell
10.....Michigan
11.....UCLA
12.....Duke
13.....New York University
14.....Northwestern
15.....Minnesota
16.....Tulane
17.....Rochester
18.....Washington University
19.....Vanderbilt
20.....California, San Diego
21.....Virginia
22.....North Carolina
23.....Tufts
24.....California, Davis
25.....Boston University
26.....Indiana
27.....Wisconsin
28.....Illinois
29.....Iowa
30.....Washington

You have to buy the book.

I was going to post this, but I did not know how reliable the source was.

I wonder what process they use in order to make the list.

"They" seems to be one guy in a shack in Montana without electricty consulting a Ouija board.

It mentions that he looks at things like faculty salaries, mission statements, and other obtuse and vague aspects of schools in addition to the numbers - definitely different than the quantitative U.S. News "mathematics" - to create his list.

1. Any school that accepts me.
...
99999999999999999999. Pritzker.
;)

try not to overly weigh medical school "rankings" when determining which medical school you want to attend. u.s. news doesn't include things like: cost, location, proximity to friends/family, curriculum style, etc.
try to use the rankings and statistics as a guideline, but by no means think that so and so - #25 school is much better than so and so -#34 ranked school, etc.. think about what is best for you!
