Hey people, can you rate this residency match list? Rate it as 10 (the best it can get) to 1 (really sad).

Here it goes:
Pediatrics Boston Combined Pediatrics
Pediatrics University of Michigan Hospitals
Psychiatry Massachusetts General Hospital
Anesthesiology University of California, San Francisco
Pediatrics Boston Combined Pediatrics
Internal Medicine Barnes-Jewish Hospital, MO
Diagnostic Radiology B.I. Deaconess Medical Center, MA
Radiation Oncology Stanford Health Services
Radiation Oncology University of Michigan Hospitals
Pathology University of California, San Francisco
Emergency Medicine Washington University
Radiation Oncology Sloan Kettering, New York
Neurology University of California, San Francisco

Where's the rest of it?

i'd say 8 as well.

You can't really tell jack from that list...for example, many schools have multiple hospitals, take the harvard system the big 3: mgh, bw, bi and then like 25 other that are associated in the conglomerate "harvard system" (like the u of mic system, was sys etc.) You need to know which hospital in particular (and you also need to know if they scrambled for some of the positions)

id say 7.3141529838345343534350032823523

😀

i hope that helps you in making the most important decision of your entire life. heh.

yeah, the list does seem a little short... unless there is a med school with such a small class.

i don't know what the hell i'm ranking but you don't really have to know what you're talking about on SDN so I'd say:

5.69
😛

Seriously, really tough to do that kind of random "ranking"

If this small sample is indicative of the rest of the class, this is a 10/10. This is coming from a fourth year med student who has heard a lot about these programs. Those rad onc matches are particularly impressive, this is one of the hardest specialties to match into.

hehe

Of course it's an awesome matchlist!!!

It's like 10 people at top ten hospitals.

What's the point of showing us that?

Thanks for participating SDNers !! 😀 It was fun, wasn't it??

This was matchlist of U. Of Maryland MD/PhD graduates in the past 6 years. I got it in the mail, thought it was interesting, and I posted it here.

I guessed right that I would get "Why are you looking at the matchlist so much.. blah" responses here.. TO all of you just RELAX!! Did I say that I will decide where to go based on your feedback on this matchlist?? Do you really think I don't consider other factors?? C'on people.. 🙄

have a nice day

hehe•••••I'd practice in the Caribbean 😎 , I'm tired of the snow 😀 😀 😀

Of course,

It's like 10 people out of 100 or something. there are going to be people like this in EVERY med school class. Which who's you that it comes down to how hard you work in the class. However, if you look at a much more "prestigious" school, you will notice that the majority of the matches all look like those!

I saw Penn State's MD/PhD match list and it was full of UCSF and MGH matches. WashU claims that 99.9% <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> of their MSTP grads get their #1 choice of residency. I still find that hard to swallow despite the fact that we were given the matchlist. It just seems totally impossible to me. Does anyone have any input on this? Are these #s twisted or are they legit?
