Hello all,

I was hoping to get input from physicians, dentists, optometrists, podiatrists, etc who are also real estate professionals in order to offset earned income (W2, 1099, etc.) Looks like a very effective but tricky way to go about it.

Thanks

Seems far, far easier for spouse to get it. I know several people with that set up and don't really know anyone that is a physician and met requirements. That's just n=1 though.

As a physician you can’t meet the requirements unless you work part time which makes no sense because you’re losing much more money than you would save with any tax deductions

Has to be your primary job. Doesn't work for docs. Have the spouse do it. Min 750 hours a year
