I applied for the 2015-2016 cycle and am currently waitlisted. Hoping for some luck, but I want to figure out my school list for the next cycle.

Stats:
3.3 uGPA
3.6 gGPA-grad school is a most memorable experience for me!
510 MCAT (127, 128, 130, 125)

State of Residence: TN
Ethnicity: White
Undergrad Institution: Belmont University
Graduate Institution: Johns Hopkins University

Clinical: (Most Memorable)
Direct patient care experience as a surgical assistant for a skin cancer surgeon over the last year.
Promoted to team leader, acted as scribe, gained immense amount of knowledge in normal skin histology and dermato-pathology as a result (over 2,000 hours of experience)
This experience is the highlight of my application and an incredible LOR comes from it. My PS is all about it.

Clinical volunteering- Worked at a hospital in the chest pain network, helped them in their office and prepare for a conference for 4 months
Probably the weakest part of my app honestly.

Research Experience:
As part of degree, completed a research project in a year. Presented a talk at a Regional conference. Presented my poster at another conference.
Experience in many molecular techniques and analysis.

Shadowing Experience:
Lots of time spent in Orthopaedic surgery (~50 hours)
Before being employed with skin cancer surgeon, I shadowed for about 20 hours.
Shadowed DO PCP for 8 hours

Non-clinical Volunteering:
Tutored ESL students in English (10 hours)
Various cleanup projects around Nashville (~100 hours)
Bucket drummed on Broadway in Nashville, money went to a charity in Nashville (20 hours)

Other:
Member of World Class Performance ensemble- competed in World Championships for 4 years (placed 14th, 11th, 8th, and 7th in respective years)- most memorable experience!
Worked full time throughout college (over 4,000 hours)
SCUBA diver
ran a marathon

Leadership:
Member of SGA For 2 years
Member of Fraternity (committee chairmen of various committees)
Mentor to fraternity brothers in scholarship
Mentor to new pre-med students as part of AED
Volunteered as a new student orientation leader for 3 years (several hundred hours here)
Volunteered in new student recruitment (also several hundred hours)

According to WedgeDawg's system, I am a C level applicant.

Will apply DO as well. Not sure which programs though.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Schools I am considering:
UTHSC
ETSU
USUHS
Boston Univ.
GWU
Tufts-for their program in Portland-dad's side of the family is there
Vandy-hometown school why not?
Hopkins-longshot of course but I went to grad school there
UAB
Penn State
Jefferson
Creighton
UK
Louisville

Planning on 25 M.D. and maybe 5 or 6 D.O.
Obviously this list will grow.

According to the GPA-MCAT grid you have a 1/3 chance of a MD acceptance with your stats. So you need to apply broadly to MD schools to increase those odds. You can delete the unrealistic schools such as Vanderbilt, BU, Tufts and Hopkins and UAB, Louisville and Kentucky accept very few OOS residents with your stats. Additional schools where you have a chance for an interview with your stats include:
Quinnipiac
Albany
New York Medical College
Drexel
Temple
Oakland Beaumont
Western Michigan
Rosalind Franklin
Tulane
Roseman (new school accepting applications sometime this year)
Your best chances will be at the DO schools so consider applying to these:
ARCOM
ACOM
BCOM
WCU-COM
LMU-DCOM
UP-KYCOM
MU-COM
WVSOM
CUSOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
NYIT-Arkansas
You can add any others that you wish.
