***my thinking is to apply to more public, out of state friendly schools this time around so that I am competing with less people for a decent amount of spots. I think last time I applied to too many low-yield schools. I got two interview invites, one rejection and one waitlist. Hoping to do better this time around! Your help would be much appreciated!! 😄

If this is helpful, my previous school list was:
Albany Medical College
Albert Einstein College of Medicine
Boston University Aram V. Chobanian & Edward Avedisian School of Medicine

Add NOVA MD as well
May I ask why you recommend this school? I see last year they had around 4000 OOS applicants and accepted 19. I would be willing to apply, just not sure how good my chances are... Thanks for your help!

That’s pretty high overall given their class size is only around 60. It wouldn’t hurt just to give your application a wider look at more schools in my opinion!

Cleveland Clinic and John A. Burns School of Medicine (in-state school)
I am surprised you did not receive more interviews with your stats and ECs. I suggest these schools when you reapply:

Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
Cincinnati
Tulane
USF Morsani
Miami
NOVA MD
Wake Forest

Georgetown
George Washington
Drexel
Temple

Penn State
Pittsburgh
Hackensack
Hofstra
Einstein
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
Tufts
Belmont (when it opens)

Cleveland Clinic and John A. Burns School of Medicine (in-state school)
Which one is the waitlist?

I don't know if mission fit is clear in your application to not get more invites. It's not completely clear based on what was described, but the hours seem solid. An interview at CCLCM as your OOS is interesting.

Currently on JABSOM waitlist. Yeah, I definitely think I struggled to push out high-quality essays while working full-time, volunteering, etc.

Thank you! Some of these schools I was thinking about reapplying to as well, so I am glad to hear that someone else is thinking the same :)
