Hello! I was hoping to get some feedback on my school list as I am preparing to reapply this upcoming cycle.
Stats: 3.96 cGPA/sGPA, MCAT 514
Residency: Hawaii. Lived in Idaho for college and in Washington for a job (only lived in WA for six months)
Research: 950 hours total, two poster presentations and one award
Clinical experience: scribing and medical assistant 3000 hours in total, caregiver 300 hours
Shadowing: 140 hours total, four different specialties
Volunteering: meals on wheels caller 400 hours, transcriptionist/creative writing contest judge/book editor for the American Prison Writing Archive and Idaho Prison Arts Collective 30 hours, first-year mentor 30 hours, relay for life member/president 150 hours, pre-health member/president 105 hours,
Other: Virtual shadowing 152 hours, ED volunteer 50 hours, human resources intern 700 hours
Awards/Honors: Full-ride merit based scholarship, honors society, deans list 8 semesters, MORE award and pre-health award upon graduation
My current school list:
***my thinking is to apply to more public, out of state friendly schools this time around so that I am competing with less people for a decent amount of spots. I think last time I applied to too many low-yield schools. I got two interview invites, one rejection and one waitlist. Hoping to do better this time around! Your help would be much appreciated!! 😄
