Misc Info/Things not stated elsewhere/Red Flags:
Currently hold EMT certification, potential red flag could be that I switched late to dentistry from Pre-PA. My major was actually Med Bio-Pre PA but it was more of a formality as all the classes are identical to my pre-dent peers.

School List:
-UNE
-Uconn
-Tufts
-BU
-Buffalo
-Stony Brook
-Dalhousie

A few
question I have are... 1) Do I need more shadow hrs or will my assisting hrs take care of that. 2) Will I need more volunteer hrs? Should I stay away from doing more soccer volunteering and find something more relevant? 3) Any advice with my school list? UNE is my top as I want to stay close to home, the rest of my list was primary based around location.

I would remove UConn and the canadian school
i agree with the CA school, disagree with UConn
it's ok to have a couple of reach schools on the list...
and OPs DAT scores are pretty good...

Well Maine is a superb state, Connecticut has nothing going for it, and they have in-state preference out the wazoo anyway. I think OP's application money for that would be greater suited for a school in a better location, like Temple perhaps

yeah, i guess i should've suggested that OP apply more broadly...

when did you apply last cycle?
which schools?
how many interviews did you get?
what did you improve since last cycle?

Add Penn 👀 and Lecom

I decided to pursue dentistry after graduating last year so I spent the summer studying for the dat. After doing well I figured It was worth applying to at least my top school, UNE, in the hopes of saving a year. So my app wasn’t in until early October.

I got an interview and was eventually waitlisted.

I started my dental assisting job after my application (although I did add it to my application last cycle). I also added some volunteer hours as well.
