Recent Residency Grads: what did you do before job

Credentials and privileging take a long time. For those who weren't yet on the schedule July 1st (no need to post, overachievers who were ready to go by then), what exactly did you do in the time between?

How did you support yourself?

I mean SINGLE PEOPLE WITHOUT KIDS (obviously people with kids would just take care of their kids, don't bother posting that)

In no particular order, I
1. moved and explored my new location
2. enjoyed NOT having to go to work every day and being able to do whatever I want
3. studied for boards
4. visited friends and family
5. Supported myself with my sign-on bonus. Moving expenses were covered by my new practice.

Finished on June 30. Took a week to study for boards. Then took a nice two week vacation. Started working last week of July.

Had to change my health insurance to my spouse's group plan.
