I'm starting to get unsolicited phone calls from recruiters/headhunters. I still have a year and a half in my residency and haven't really thought of the whole job search thing yet. The phone calls are very aggressive and very personal -- asking for very specific personal information. I haven't given any information out. Just wondering how others have dealt with this situation.

Congrats, man. The EM residents I talk to do say that the job applications/contacts start to roll in about halfway through your second year (dunno about 4 yr programs). I know that some senior residents already have jobs around now, while others haven't really started interviewing yet. Most of the residents say they will have finalized contracts before the holiday season...

Be aware that PhyAmerica just went bankrupt... so pay attention to who manages the ED and the physicians. Good luck bro, hope I'm in your position in two years (applying to EM now).
