I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE WOULD BE ABLE TO OFFER ME GOOD ADVICE WITH REGARDS TO MY SITUATION AS I AM IN A VERY DIFFICULT POSITION.
I PASSED MY MMBS AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK USMLE IN 1996 WITH SCORE OF 76 AND 79 IN STEP 2 AND STEP 1 RESPECTIVELY WITH 2 ATTEMPTS IN EACH PART.
SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN WORKING IN UK AND CURRENTLY WORKING AS A FELLOW IN CHEST MEDICINE COMING TO THE END OF MY TRAINING. I HAVE RETKAEN STEP 1&2 WITH SCORES OF 94 AND 95 SINCE 7 YEARS HAD ELAPSED BETWEEN MY STEPS IN 1996 AND NOW.
I WAS WONDERING WETHER ANYBODY WOULD OFFER ME A RESIDENCY SLOT IF I APPLYIED/ OR IF SOMEONE HAD A SIMILIAR EXPERIENCE.
ANY ADVICE FROM ANY ONE OF YOU WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND SHALL GO A LONG WAY IN HELPING ME IN DECIDING WETHER I SHOULD TAKE STEP 3 AND SOLVING THIS VEXING PROBLEM WHICH HAS BECOME THE BANE OF MY LIFE.

i might be wrong but i believe the usmle grades are only good for 7 years. so you might have to retake all 3 parts of step 1/2 and also step 3 before entertaining residency and the visa required to enter US programs..

call ecfmg. as far as i know they will report ur entire exam history including ur past attempts - but get it clarified.

i think most pds wud overlook ur deficiencies earlier considering the fact that u have completed ur mrcp and are already a fellow. i dont think u shud have a problem getting a residency in im. clear ur s3 with as high a score as possible. if u crack a 90 again then it wud a long way in relieving a pds anxiety about u bein a good test taker or not.

get strong reco letters from faculty in uk who are published and known in usa. and give ur s3 by aug 1st week so ur score is in by the time of applications.

uk is closing doors so u dont have an option except either come to usa or go to australia and clear the amc. i think u cud get a very good job in australia and ur credentials are valid there since its part of commonwealth.

gl and i think u wil get prematched somewhere if u decide to come to usa and clear ur s3 in time..
